A New Friend

Sunset: C'mon. It'll be a while before Applejack's ready for us. So, how about you and I have a little walk-and-talk?

Starlight: Sure. Great way to kill the time.

Sunset: So tell me, Starlight... What do you think about being friends with Twilight?

Starlight: Oh, wow. What CAN I say? She's smart, she's sweet... She's forgiving...

Sunset: Haha. Yeah. She sure is all of those things... and more. And hey... don't tell her I said this, but... she's like a sister to me.

Starlight: Oh? You really feel that way...? ...HAHAHAHA! Hey, no need to be so secretive about it. I kinda feel that way, too!

Sunset: Heh. Well, a secret shared is a trust formed...

Starlight: *giggle*

Sunset: Ahhh. Y'know, when I first met Twilight, I was in a pretty nasty "phase." I mean, I was the biggest bully in school for over three years... then this brainy chick shows up and turns my plans upside down, to the point where I became a scary monster. Then, one boss battle and one altruistic speech later, I'm friends with her! Funny, huh?

Starlight: Yeeaaaaaah… But what do you mean, "boss battle?"

Sunset: (SCRAP!) Uh, nothin.' Hehehehe...

Starlight: Uh-huh. Well, anyway... My first meeting with Twilight wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, either. I... sigh... I formed a cult that believed in "equality," and used a scepter that stole ponies' cutie marks and put big equal signs in their place. Then, I threw time itself all out of whack to keep her friends from meeting and... and... ………………..ohhh...

Sunset: Hey. Starlight. Look at me. Don't think this is a problem exclusive to you. Remember, I was bad as bad can get, too.

Starlight: *wipes eyes* H... How did you become bad...?

Sunset: I got sick and tired of other students saying I'd only be a regular unicorn and that I wasn't special to anyone, and Sombra's spirit warped mine. You?

Starlight: My heart broke when my only friend left me without saying goodbye and seemingly forgot me, and because my mom's a textbook busypony.

Sunset: Ouch.

Starlight: Yep.

Sunset: Hey. It's all behind us now. So I was thinking. If you think of Twilight like a sister, and I think of Twilight like a sister... then why don't you and I be like sisters, too?

Starlight: Heyyy… I like that idea! The family-by-proxy thing!

Sunset: Yeah! Heeheehee! So, what do you say, Glim? Sisters?

Starlight: Sure thing, Sunny. Sisters.

Applejack: THERE you two are! Ah was lookin' fer you all over Sweet Apple Acres! You still wanna help me bring in today's harvest, righty?
