Hearthswarming may be quite a ways away, but lets all be happy that this special is much closer to that very date! I remember hearing about this special earlier in the year, and there wasn't really much said about it besides that it is a pretty relaxed Hearthswarming special. The synopsis only told us so much, but it seems like everypony is going to be coming together, figuring out the perfect gift to get for this Hearthswarming! One of the best things about these holiday specials is the music that comes with it. I'm really hoping for quite a bit of new holiday music from this special and hoping that everypony makes their decision that family and friends are the best gift anyone could ever have. This is a 45-minute special, so prepare yourselves for a special filled with holiday cheer!
Gift giving is a difficult thing every year for everyone, but we always must remember that being there with each other is the thing that matters the most. Each of the ponies had to pick from a hat and decide on what to get their pony that they picked from it. I'm surprised that they didn't immediately spark and figure out right away. Twilight and her friends have known each other for so long, you would think that they would all understand what to get each other. Someponies have already had gift ideas made, but there were some bumps along the way. Flim and Flam were certainly not helping this Hearths Warming. These two continue to be manipulative and really are never going to change, even for the holidays. It's very unfortunate that all of this had to happen for everypony, but it made this special a lot more entertaining. Spike and Rarity was pretty strong for this one too. I really hoped for both of them to end up finding gift for one another, but the moments with these two were just as good! I almost forgot that the reindeer were another awesome addition to this big special! I feel we we see them more in the future! The beautiful song near the end that he sang and the group song in general though was the icing on top of the Hearths Warming pudding... yep... I'm still wondering where all that pudding could have went, although they did have Fluttershy's gift in the castle gulping it all down.
One of the best things about this special is that everypony got a lot of screen time! My only question is though... why couldn't they have added Starlight into the fun? It's quite confusing, but it seems like there wouldn't be enough time to add her in. Since she didn't necessarily appear with a role or anything, at least we got to see her relaxing this Hearthswarming with Trixie in her wagon. The most entertaining part in this special to me was totally Derpy! Season 5 was the last time we heard her with a voice and it's so great to finally see her being so silly again explaining to ponies about problems with lost packages, or packages delivered to the wrong address. Discord even appeared, and even with a grand entrance being a candle! Here's to say I wouldn't blame Discord entirely for the destruction of Twilight's castle because it seems like he forgot that those tiny chinchilla's turn into a chinzilla at sunset. Typical Discord... testing the ponies again.
Family and friends are the best gift that anyone could ever ask for.

Well, well... the finale came fast, and it was only a matter of time until Cozy Glow was the confirmed villain for this season. At first, I didn't think nothing of her... other than her being too adorable! After seeing many meme's and pointers, things got a lot more obvious and the recent signs of her being evil puts the cherry top top of everything! If there is one thing I like, it's surprises, but unfortunately, with all of the early releases and leaks this year, those surprises are not there. The synopsis of this finale also points it out unfortunately too, but of course... it was only a matter of time until we all figure it out. Nonetheless, I do love to read the synopsis of an episode before I actually watch it. It's always nice to know what you're diving into rather than going in blind. The finale is here and lets see just how much destruction this evil, little, filly has done!
There was so much manipulation in this episode and every evil moment that Cozy Glow had, just made me even more irritated! Even though it was all obvious from the start, I'm just glad that she did not have any magical powers herself. I'm especially glad that she was not a unicorn like Starlight, otherwise, things could have gone a lot more worse. The magical power in Equestria is like no other. It confuses me a lot that Cozy Glow would think that taking over an entire land like this can give her an endless amount of friends. I guess she does not realize the backlash and/or wants to accept the backlash of being defeated by anyone. The student 6 played a role like no other in this big finale. I knew that the writers would totally do this since they have learned so much throughout the time spent at Twilight's school, they just had to have them put it all into action! It was also fun to see the Mane cast put into action, but not as much fun as it was to see how the 6 students helped. After hearing that "Starlight put Cozy Glow in charge", right there set off the alarm and things became a lot more obvious, especially for the student 6! What a relief it was though to not see the entire school blow up. That would be a total change up for the next season!
These 6 students can always be trusted no matter what. I can't even believe that Neighsay would have casted them out like this, especially whenever Celestia and Luna agreed that teaching such creatures is a great choice for Twilight's school. While it may have been oblivious for every little thing that Cozy Glow did, maybe she can learn something from this, but by judging the ending of this finale... it doesn't seem like she learned anything. It's all too satisfying to see Cozy Glow locked up in Tartarus and away from Ponyville. It's going to be quite different without her in the next season and hopefully we don't have to worry about her returning! I cherish the student 6 so much and with everything that had happened with them saving the day and stopping Cozy Glow, this makes them look so much more impressive to all of Equestria! I couldn't imagine unicorns and alicorns living their lives without magic... just think... they would never be able to stop anything in their paths. All destruction would never be reversible and Equestria would fall apart very quickly!
With all of this progression with the student 6, I wouldn't be surprised if Twilight gives them all special advantages for saving Equestria!

Little to nothing is known about Spike's parents... that is until now. Here's hoping we get to dive deeper into the past of this little dragon that has been with Twilight ever since he first hatched. To me, I feel like Twilight is the overall perfect mother for him, just look at the way she treats him half the time. The motherly instincts we've saw throughout the years between these two is everlasting. I'm really excited and I can't wait to see at least what Spike's possible dad may look like. He claims to be his father, but unfortunately... that may not be entirely true. Also... being a Spike episode, really hoping that he shines again as he has been on the roll with it lately. This is also our first episode of Spike with his new wings, I'm really excited to see just what big of a role they will play!
How incredibly shocking is that? Some dragon to totally set spike up just to live the "castle life". Sludge was nothing but a lazy nuisance that wanted to do absolutely nothing while Spike serviced him. Sludge left me to believe that he really was Spike's father at first, but honestly... until he didn't finish the rest of the story he told, it had to be all a lie. I'm very eager to hear the actual story of how Spike's egg was found in the first place. In order for Celestia to have gotten hold of the egg, somepony had to have found it lying somewhere. This hopefully gives us new opportunities in the future for Spike, but lets also hope that it will not be another complete set up. I'm glad that the ponies were able to cure him, but after seeing just how he was treating his "son", I knew this was definitely not a true father figure at all. Smolder was a huge assistance too because she pretty much knows all about being a dragon since she has grown up right with Princess Ember. This made the episode more promising, knowing that we have a true, but friendlier dragon living in Twilight's school.
It's safe to say that Sludge's moments were just more reasons to hate him. Even his song was not really anything too interesting. It's just explaining how to live the best life having your own son do everything for you while you just lay down all day. Smolders pointers were perfect, I'm glad to see she pulled through to help Spike really understand just how fake this phony is. The Spike and Twilight moments were also very sweet and tender. Spike should never be ashamed to be living life like a pony. Twilight has been with spike literally all his life, he taught him everything, celebrated holidays together... the list goes on! I was relieved that Sludge was not going to take Spike away from his real home, otherwise... Twilight and everypony else would have completely broken hearts. I'm very glad Spike does have wings, therefore, getting away from certain life threatening situations is a lot easier now. The only funny part with Sludge is just where Twilight walked in on him with the undone robe, and Twilight's reaction was priceless!
Let the family relationship between Twilight and Spike's closest pony friends never, ever, die!

So the friendship quests are back again. It has been quite a while since our last friendship map calling this season and I'm pretty excited to see just where this location is going to be. Applejack and Fluttershy have solved the most confusing friendship problem a few seasons back and I don't think this friendship problem should be all too hard to solve. Something that I would love to see is more ponies going solo whenever the map calls for help. I sure would love to see just how Fluttershy would handle a friendship problem that is all up to her to solve without anypony else; she has grown a lot over the past several seasons after all. These friendship quests are moderately predictable, but I guess they are nice for a change of pace.
We have expanded the lore even more as we are introduced by the very interesting species called Kirin! With the direction this episode took, I feel that Applejack and Fluttershy were the perfect fit, but if something else were to happen, it may have not gone better than it did. From the start of first seeing the Kirin, I knew that this was going to be a funny and cute experience. Lets face it... they are all very adorable whenever they're silent with their head movements, almost like a dog or cat would do the same! It wasn't until we met Autumn Blaze, who I absolutely loved. Her design is SO beautiful and that song of hers that she sang almost brang a tear to my eye with that incredible voice. Her personality was a very identical match to Pinkie Pie too! If she were there, I can only imagine how much more fun Autumn's time would have been. The Peaks of Peril was quite the introduction by that unknown photographer at the end of the train track, and whichever spooky things he was talking about, he can now rest easy as all is taken care of by Applejack and Fluttershy.
Applejack and Fluttershy had quite the rocky start, but without that rocky start, they would have never found those flowers for the cure. It's not too common whenever we hear Fluttershy down right outburst at somepony, that was something that was too funny to see! So upon arriving in the Peaks of Peril, the Kirin really took it all for me. Even though they may have not been able to talk, they were all too adorable! If I were to choose for them talking or being silent, I would totally choose being silent for the sake of cuteness. In regards to Autumn Blaze, which was the Kirin that could speak, her design is just over the top beautiful. That song she sang felt just right for her and the gorgeous land that she lives on. I'm very happy to see that all the Kirin managed to make their decisions and find their place, and we owe it all to Autumn Blaze, Applejack, and Fluttershy!
Being in a land for all that time with nothing but silence must have been dreadful, even though it still maintained its beauty.

When a strange dragon crash lands in Ponyville claiming to be Spike's father, Spike is ready to do anything his father says in order to learn how to be a real dragon.
Spikes parents episode?!?! Perhaps it may be some confusion, or Spikes "father" is trying to just showoff. Whatever it may be, we may have the very first episode of Spikes parents!
Although... at least one of them.

I have said this many times before, but I really can't get enough of these new student characters! There is so much to know about them and all of this screen time lately of them makes the episodes more enjoyable. We may just as well be getting a lot more screen time from these 6 students as we venture into an unknown part of the school that no one else knows about. Not the secret passage way, but something far different! I sure hope the synopsis owns up to what we're expecting because an episode revolving around an adventure, especially with these new students sounds like another big bonding experience for everyone. Out of all these students, Ocellus and Silverstream are my top favorites and i'm really excited to see more cute moments with these two!
These creatures sure did go through a lot of trouble trying to understand certain values in friendship. Somewhat of a sneaky move by Cozy Glow if I do say so myself! I should have known that she was the one that would be up to all of this! The great thing about this is that we got to see the weak spots with each of these characters. This is a real life long lesson for each of them, especially whenever not fully understanding friendship. It was a funny scene to see Ocellus act out Twilight and Applejack in such a manner, but this would be making fun of the important values of their big test. The suspicion of an evil side of Cozy Glow definitely took affect shortly after Cozy Glow decided to straighten up all of the students. This was coming soon enough because after hearing many others point it out, I think it is more confirmed that Cozy Glow is very much evil! It's quite scary to see such a small, little, filly cause all of this... even more so how she did it without any forms of magic. With the underground roots of the school existing, I really think there is some exploration to be done here by the Mane ponies.
It was so, SO exciting to get ourselves another full fledged student 6 episode, and we got to see a lot more epic feats between them! What I really enjoyed the most was the whole situation with the underground area of Twilight's school. This ought to play out in a future episode, and there has got to be some form of magic that needs to be controlled. Each of the students had a lot of work to do if they wanted to pass this test successfully, but unfortunately it took a lot longer until they entered the mysterious roots of Twilight's school. My favorite character test was Smolder. It really surprises me and all of us now that we know she has a big girly side to her. That dress that she was wearing was the icing on the cake. I sure hope no pony finds out about that! Yona's location was also enjoyable, but I felt so bad for her! I would die if I was in a room surrounded by hundreds of spiders, big or small! The slight Storm King cameo was also great, and oh... Silverstream discovering drains was pretty adorably hilarious as well!
There are so many important values of friendship to understand, I'm glad all of the students came together and made a conclusion, but Cozy Glow... she is going to pay eventually.

Sounds of Silence
Fluttershy and Applejack journey to the edge of the map on a Friendship Quest to help a group of ponies who are so afraid of hurting each other's feelings, they've taken a potion of silence.
There is not really much to go from with this synopsis, but yet, I think we may be visiting a new location in the far regions of Equestria!
